Description: If you find yourself sailing or motoring on the St. Johns River way south of Downtown and want to spend a night or two in a quiet marina enveloped by the sounds and sights of old Florida, Amity’s your anchorage. Just make sure you call ahead. The marina has only 48 slips, most of which are usually occupied by locals.Best described by its owner as a “quiet marina in the country,” Amity Anchorage is a no-frills operation. There’s water and power for your boat and a bathroom and a shower for you. And you can buy a bag of ice. That’s about it. But you can’t beat the scenery and the price: 50 cents per foot per night. The marina office is open Wednesday through Friday from 3:30 to 9 p.m. and on Saturday and Sunday from noon to 9 p.m.
