Description: One of five secondary school apostolates sponsored by the Chicago Province of the Society of Jesus, Brebeuf was founded in 1962 and currently serves a coeducational student body of 822 in grades 9 through 12 and a faculty and staff of more than 100. Brebeuf serves as an interfaith high school with students from a variety of religious backgrounds. About half of the students are Roman Catholic and 19 percent represent minority populations. Brebeuf offers more than 50 activities and 29 athletic teams. The school motto is “Men and Women for Others.” In April 2009 the school added the state-of-the-art Mark G. Kite Wellness Center, which offers space and equipment to promote cardiovascular health and conditioning with a wide range of physical activities. Tuition to Brebeuf is about $12,950 plus $275 in fees. About 25 percent of all Brebeuf Jesuit students receive financial assistance.
