Description: Located in the heart of downtown Indy, the Claddagh Irish Pub is a handy spot for food, drink, and frivolity. Patterned after the Irish pubs—coming from the phrase public house—Claddagh has a long list of traditional Irish fare, including the time-honored classic of corned beef and cabbage. Fish and chips is one of the favorites, as is the Irish Monte Cristo—sourdough bread dipped in egg batter and fried in a griddle, then filled with cheese, rasher bacon, and turkey and sprinkled with powdered sugar. The homemade shepherd’s pie and Guinness beef stew are surefire warmer-uppers on a chilly day. Claddagh offers plenty of Jameson Irish Whiskey and Guinness in 20-ounce pints. Live music is often featured, but call ahead to be sure someone is playing if that is one of your main reasons for stopping by.
