Rich African mahogany paneling and soft lighting from one-of-a-kind art deco chandeliers create a warm decor made for relaxing. The Capital features an extensive menu that is a pleasure to read. Take time to savor it before ordering. Just look at two of the appetizers—cold shellfish platter with a one-pound lobster, Gulf Coast jumbo shrimp, and freshly shucked oysters. Or the Wagyu beef carpaccio, premium Japanese beef blended with seven spices, seared, chilled, and sliced razor thin, garnished with fresh arugula. The Capital specializes in dry-aged steaks, fresh seafood that is flown in daily, and some creative side dishes. A favorite is the Parmesan Truffle Fries—golden fries tossed in shredded Grana Padano cheese, kosher salt, and white truffle oil. Or try the Lobster Mac ‘N’ Cheese—baked campanelle pasta and fresh lobster meat tossed in a mascarpone, Havarti, and Grana Padano cream sauce topped with panko bread crumbs, and grated white cheddar.
