Address: 9300 Mira Myrtis Rd.

Description: Located north of Shreveport along the northern most shore of Black Bayou Lake, this 9-acre park provides a boat ramp with dock, a family pavilion with restrooms, playground equipment, and many picnic tables with grills and is almost completely surrounded by water. In the center of the park is an area where Louisiana irises are generally grown. Great spot for families to enjoy the outdoors. Launch your boat and try your hand at catching largemouth bass, crappie, redear sunfish, bluegill, and other bream species. Most of the park is embraced by a cypress swamp, giving it a true Louisiana feel. Also a great location for bird-watching; red-shouldered hawks have been seen nesting in the tall pines. Free parking. The park is open daily from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. (in other words, from dawn until dusk) although diehard fishers can stay on the water 24 hours a day.
