Description: This annual fall festival celebrates all things medieval with a re-creation of a 16th-century English marketplace village. On the 80-acre wooded site, visitors can cheer on jousting knights, watch glass blowers, sample medieval food, test their knife-throwing skills, and visit the tigers and lions in the Royal Zoo. Adding to the merriment are the hundreds of performers who roam the grounds as minstrels, magicians, and “comely” wenches. If you really want to immerse yourself in the Renaissance experience, you can even rent a costume for the day. The festival takes place during the 8 weekends from late Aug through Columbus Day.
