Description: This East Falmouth beachfront fixture rests on the Green Pond inlet, which eventually empties into Vineyard Sound and is perfect for kayaking or canoeing. Green Harbor has 40 units. Each waterfront guest room offers one queen and one double bed, a private full bath, cable TV, telephone, microwave, refrigerator, and individually controlled heat and air-conditioning. Some are equipped with full kitchens as are certain beachside studios. There is also a three-bedroom cottage, which features three full baths, three televisions, a fireplace, and a fully equipped eat-in kitchen. The family-run facility has a heated outdoor pool as well as a 1-foot-deep kiddie pool. There are docking facilities available for your use if you plan to arrive on your own boat. The course itself is wide open without many trees and is relatively flat, making it perfect for walkers and beginners, who may want to start on the separate 9-hole, par 37 course. It also has a nice practice range, putting green, and pro shop and offers rental equipment and carts. Greens fees are $45 Mon to Fri, and $60 on weekends for 18 holes. Tee time reservations can be made up to fourteen days in advance.

Description: Owned and operated by former PGA pro Paul Harney, this 18-hole executive course offers outstanding play with five par 4 holes and 13 par 3s, totaling some 3,600 yards (par 59 if you’re counting). The 16th hole is a par 3 with an elevated tee and a pond protecting the green about 230 yards from the tee. There are plenty of ways to get into trouble here, so you’ll want to hit your shots long and straight. Greens fees are $35, the rate drops to $25 after 4 p.m. Weekends are busy, and the course does not take reservations; still, it’s a good idea to call ahead to see how long the wait might be. This course is open year-round and has a practice green to putt on while you wait for your tee time.
