Description: Garden in the Woods is the headquarters and the principal botanic display gardens of the New England Wildflower Society. This Eden of woodlands is located on 45 acres with both natural and cultivated gardens, showcasing more than 1,700 kinds of plants. In the spring hundreds of native flowers are in bloom among the forest of trees. In the summer the meadows teem with a rich variety of wildflowers. For families, a walk along the trails through the forest and across the small brook past the pond and across the bog is a delight of fairy-like flora and fauna. A guided tour is offered each day (and included with admission) and the garden shop is a tremendous resource with exceptional native plants for sale. Open Tues through Sun and holiday Mon, Apr through Oct.
