1. Oro

City: Scituate, MA
Category: Restaurants
Telephone: (781) 378-2465
Address: 162 Front St.

Description: Located on Scituate’s scenic harbor, this casually upscale restaurant is awash in shades of white and beige and is a great little find for modern New England cuisine. Husband-and-wife Chef-Owners Robin and Jill King have created a menu that emphasizes seafood and local vegetables with dishes like cedar-roasted salmon with parsnip puree, and a lobster cake with spinach and a tomato crema. Be sure to save room for the warm chocolate pudding cake with salted caramel custard and coffee ice cream.

2. Scituate Light

City: Scituate, MA
Category: Tours & Attractions
Address: 100 Lighthouse Rd.

Description: Activated in 1811, Scituate’s granite and brick lighthouse stands at the northern edge of the harbor. It is still used as a private aid to navigation. For an up-close approach, the lighthouse grounds are open from dawn to dusk (a caretaker lives in the adjacent keeper’s house). Scheduled open houses during the summer allow visitors to climb up to the lantern room.
