Description: Several companies run frequent and inexpensive bus service between Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington, D.C., and other stops. As they used to originate and travel to New York’s Chinatown, they are known generically as “Chinatown” buses. Fares may start at $1 each way if you reserve far enough in advance. Otherwise, they may be $20 up to $30 or maybe more. Generally, the buses are clean, have a clean restroom on board, have electrical outlets so your device batteries don’t run dry, Wi-Fi Internet connection, and sometimes a TV/DVD for your entertainment. Sometimes they take a vote among the passengers about whether or not they want a movie shown during the 3.5-hour trip. They may or may not make a stop at one of the service plazas along the New Jersey Turnpike. Apex and NYDC Express are two lines that are running from the Travel Plaza to New York and other cities as of this writing. If they don’t fit your schedule or you’re interested in another company, do a Google or Bing search for Chinatown buses.
