City: Cape Porpoise, ME
Category: Restaurants
Telephone: (207) 967-0039
Address: 62 Mills Rd.

Description: The team behind the ever-popular Fisherman’s Catch in Wells, the Lane family, has purchased and renamed the old Lobster Pot in Cape Porpoise, one of the few real villages left in southern Maine, so the people who show up here will probably be expecting seafood. And that’s largely what they’ll get, in the form of baked stuffed flounder with Newburg sauce, and spicy tuna with kiwi. But you can also get baby back ribs, chicken, and other meats. The menu is actually quite long and well-rounded, with both swimmers and walkers. You could happily fill up on a couple of smaller plates or go home with a doggie bag by ordering an entree. Worth a stop.

2. Goat Island Light

City: Cape Porpoise, ME
Category: Tours & Attractions
Address: Pier Rd.

Description: Somehow the hamlet of Cape Porpoise in Kennebunkport has managed to remain a little fishing village even as the southern Maine coast booms with development all around it. Goat Island Light, a 25-foot tower built in 1833, is a pretty landmark offshore. Inaccessible to visitors, it’s still photogenic.
