Description: This funky old place—all towers, veranda, and dormers—welcomed its first guests in 1888, and it’s been keeping guest registers ever since (read them and it will be obvious people like the inn). Anyone with a strong arm can practically throw a stone at Pemaquid Light from the inn, even though the inn doesn’t have water views of its own. No matter, it’s a really fun venerable sort of place where you can just feel the happy ghosts of summers past. Neat decor—fieldstones and stained glass—and the rooms are comfortable, with private baths, and with cable TV in some cases. Accommodations range from cottages to suites to simple quarters with twin beds.
