Downeast Duck Adventures - Parks & Recreation - Portland, Maine

City: Portland, ME
Category: Parks & Recreation
Address: 177 Commercial Street

Description: The only “amphibious” tour in Portland, the Downeast Duck Adventures tour bus is a hulking 39-foot boat on wheels that travels around Portland’s downtown and Old Port, past must-see landlubber spots like the Victoria Mansion and the Portland Observatory, and then splashes headlong into Casco Bay for a thorough tour of the area’s sea sites, such as the half-submerged Fort Gorges and local lighthouses. Tours last from 60 to 70 minutes, with equal time on land and sea. Along the way, you’ll hear an informational narrative of area history and legend from a wacky guide, or “Duckaneer.” The season runs from late May to mid-October. Tickets are $24 for adults, $20 for seniors, $17 for children ages 6 to 12, and $5 for kids age 5 and under. Tickets can be purchased at Harbor View Gifts at 177 Commercial Street.
