Description: Don’t you wish you could still go to summer camp, maybe bring the whole family this time? At this fine camp in the inland town of Washington (30 minutes from Rockland), hard by the shore of Washington Pond, you can. The motto here is “relive the best summer of your life,” and it certainly gets you started with many of the hallmarks you remember from your summer camp days. There are the cabins, the meals in the lodge, swimming in the lake, arts, crafts, canoeing, fishing, games, new friends—everything you’d find at a traditional summer camp, but you don’t have to be 12 to enjoy it. (Oh, and there’s lobster dinner once a week.) You might be too old to sneak over to the girls’ camp, though. Sessions run for a week at a time from the end of June through mid-August. Call or check the Web for this year’s dates.
