Description: These 74 acres were given to Maine Audubon by local resident Millicent Hamilton. A 1.5-mile system of trails explores the peninsula on which the sanctuary sits, surrounded by the New Meadows River. These paths will take you across meadows, through a pine forest, past a former ice pond, and out to the river, known for its populations of ospreys, blue herons, snowy egrets, and horseshoe crabs. Open all year from sunrise to sunset.
