Description: Anoka-Ramsey Community College (ARCC) has served the north metropolitan Twin Cities since 1965. As the suburbs of Minneapolis and St. Paul have expanded, Anoka-Ramsey has grown to meet the area’s needs. After opening the first campus in Coon Rapids, presently one of the Twin Cities’ fastest growing suburbs, the college added the Cambridge Campus in 1978 and shrewdly anticipated an area that would undergo significant urbanization.Numerous programs can be started, and in some cases completed, at Anoka–Ramsey. They range from accounting, art, astronomy, music, and law enforcement, to Spanish, sociology, mathematics, and zoology. The community college offers associate in arts (A.A.) and associate in science (A.S.) degrees. Anoka-Ramsey was developed as a feeder school for students to begin their educations and then move on to a four-year college to complete their degrees, but it also offers many programs to train for practical careers in physical therapy, business, computer networking and telecommunications, nursing, and other specific trades.
