Description: Take a train ride up Turkey Creek Valley or the Roark Creek Valley on this candlelight excursion into our Ozarks past. The dinner train is Saturday evening only, leaving at 5 p.m. and returning at 7:15 p.m., just in time for you to make a show. This sit-down dinner offers traditional train fare, which includes a salad; a beef, fish, or chicken entree; vegetables; and a drink. The train will take you back in time to when the railroads set the standard for luxury. You’ll see the seasonal splendor of the Ozark Mountains. The conductor will point out some of the interesting highlights along the 40-mile round-trip and let you know when you’ll plunge into the darkness of a tunnel. With the fine china and linen in candlelight, this is what we call romance. It’s an Ozarks version of the Orient Express without the murder. During the day, you can make the same journey without the dinner. Dinner trip: $53.75 per person; excursion trip, $24 for adults (13 years and older) and $13.75 for children (3 years to 12).
