Description: The Historic Daniel Boone Home is a four-story structure built between 1804 and 1810 in the Femme Osage Valley of St. Charles County. It was the last permanent residence of Daniel Boone and his wife, Rebecca, and was where Boone died in 1820. The adjoining Boonesfield Village is a collection of more than a dozen historic buildings from throughout Missouri that have been reconstructed to form a living-history village. The village includes a schoolhouse (circa 1831); a milliner’s shop (1840); woodworker’s shop (1837); the Peace Chapel (circa 1840–60), complete with a reconstructed 28-stop Wicks pipe organ; the Stake House (circa 1828–40); and the Sappington-Dressel House (1807). Open daily.

Description: This Missouri frontier village centered on Boone’s 1810 home includes more than a dozen building, including a one-room schoolhouse; church; general store; gristmill; pottery; printer’s, carpenter’s, and dressmaker’s shops; farmstead; homes; and more. The Daniel Boone home, nearly 200 years old, is four stories tall, and its limestone walls are 2.5 feet thick. The home, where Boone lived until his death in 1820, has seven fireplaces, a ballroom, and a variety of everyday items such as a collection of flintlock long rifles, Mrs. Boone’s butter churn and sewing basket, Daniel’s writing desk, and the family dishes. Closed December through February.
