Description: This is a great nine-hole golf course if you don’t have much time or want to work on your short game. The 2,100-yard, par 34 course is in the midst of some grand mountainous terrain. The course has no par 5s, but hole 6 with a hard left dogleg is a very difficult par 4. The course is open seven days a week and charges $15 per person, plus a $11 per person cart fee. Carts are not required, so you can get the full exercise benefit of the game. Pull carts are available. The course has a pro shop. To find the Kimberling Golf Course, turn south onto MO 13 at the intersection of MO 76 and MO 13 in Branson West. As you’re coming down the long hill into Kimberling City, you’ll turn right at the fifth light.

Description: With more than 200 members from across the globe, the Kimberling Amateur Radio Club does its duty to spread the word about Ozark Mountain Country. Ham radio buffs know the club by its call letters, KOEI. The first Saturday of each month, the club gives FCC license exams at its regular meeting spot, the American Legion building next to Harter House. The cost to take the exam is $6.35. If you want to enjoy their breakfast buffet beforehand, bring another $4. Members range in age from 8 to 90. (More are closer to 90 than 8.) Not only do these people like to talk, they like to pitch in to help their community. Each year the Kimberling Amateur Radio Club helps organize the Kimberling City Christmas parade. Occasionally they put on a garage sale to help pay for repeater equipment.

Description: With just 22,000 volumes, the Kimberling Area Library may not have as many books as some of the other libraries in the area, but it has much to offer in the way of services. If you want to learn more about computers or the Internet, the library can set you up with a facilitator for $1 an hour. A special tax-consulting workshop is held each year for seniors, and the Investment Club meets at the library to discuss stocks, bonds, and other money-making opportunities. Literacy tutors offer free help to area adults so they too can enjoy the escapades of the Play Readers Club, which gathers regularly at the library. The volunteer staff is available to help you find information and phone numbers for area senior citizen services. The Friends of the Library club raises money to help buy new books and brings in guest speakers each month.
