Description: Since the team’s inception in 1892, the St. Louis Cardinals have made 17 trips to the World Series and had more than 30 players, managers, and executives inducted to the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown. Legendary players such as Stan Musial, Bob Gibson, Ozzie Smith, and Mark McGwire have made Cardinals baseball the best game in town for more than a century. McGwire called St. Louis “baseball heaven,” and broadcasters and baseball pundits across the country agree, dubbing St. Louis baseball fans the best in the country. Tickets are usually easy to get, whether in advance or at the gate. Scalpers set up shop across the street from the stadium in front of the Hilton hotel and at Mike Shannon’s restaurant and you can usually bargain with the sellers and get decent seats for a somewhat reasonable price. Gates open two hours before game time so fans can watch batting practice, and it’s an ideal time to try and get autographs from the players. Fans are allowed to walk down into the field box seats behind the dugouts to take photos of the players or get autographs. Management requests that the fans leave the area when the field box ticket holders arrive, so make sure you follow orders from the ushers.
