Description: This is one of the larger and more tourist-oriented vineyards in the region. It was founded in 1980 and is composed of 57 planted acres. In addition to beautifully landscaped public outdoor areas, you’ll find a large wine-tasting room. Tours of the production facilities are also available. Chardonnay, Gewürztraminer, Riesling, Viognier, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Syrah, and Malbec are among the wine varieties produced here. 

2. Castello Di Borghese Vineyard & Winery

Description: Since 1973 this vineyard has been producing Chardonnay, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Pinot Noir from its production facility and 85 planted acres of vines. It’s one of the oldest wineries in the region. A wine-tasting room, tours, and public outdoor areas are available, and special events are held here throughout the year.

Description: Situated on 200 planted acres, Peconic Bay Winery is one of the largest in the region. It was established in 1979. Among its offerings are Chardonnay, Riesling, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot. Enjoy a tour of the production facilities, relax and experience the wines in the tasting room, or explore the gorgeous outdoor areas. As you’d expect, if you visit on a weekend during the summer, this winery (along with most of the others) will be crowded.

4. Pellegrini Vineyards

Description: Chardonnay, Gewürztraminer, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Petit Verdot are among the varieties produced using the grapes from the 70 planted acres at this vineyard. It was established in 1991 by Bob and Joyce Pellegrini, and offers a wine-tasting room, public outdoor areas, and tours of the production facilities. Special events and live music are presented here on a regular basis.

5. Pugliese Vineyards

Description: Utilizing 53 planted acres, Pugliese Vineyards produces Chardonnay, Gewürztraminer, Niagara, Pinot Grigio, Riesling, and Cabernet Franc in addition to a few other varieties. It was established in 1980 and is a family-owned-and-operated business. The wines produced here have won numerous awards. The wine-tasting room and outdoor public areas are open year-around, seven days a week, usually between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. Tours of the production facilities are offered, as is live entertainment. If you purchase wines by the bottle here, you can have a special message hand painted on the bottle for an additional fee.

6. Vineyard 48

Description: Established in 1982, Vineyard 48 is situated on 28 planted acres and produces Chardonnay, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot. The vineyard is known for hosting live entertainment and family-friendly outdoor events during the spring, summer, and fall months. (Not all events, however, are open to young people.) People also come to play chess in the game room while enjoying fine wine. You’ll also find a cigar lounge and, of course, a wine-tasting room. Approximately 10,500 cases of wine are produced here annually.
