Description: Open throughout the year, this museum features an array of hands-on activities and exhibits designed to educate visitors about the physical sciences. In the summer several different camplike programs are offered to children in different age groups. Throughout the year a variety of parent and infant activities are offered. This is considered a “workshop museum” that takes a hands-on approach to learning, as opposed to showcasing passive exhibits and displays. Hours vary by season.

Description: This is a family-friendly “hands-on workshop museum” and activity center that features an ongoing series of events throughout the year. Many of the special events are kid-oriented, though there’s plenty for parents to experience here as well. Instead of focusing on exhibits, guests participate in seminars, workshops, and activities that focus on various aspects of science. Some are educational, while other activities are purely entertainment-oriented, but with a science-related twist.For preschoolers, there’s an ongoing year-round nursery program, while special activities are hosted here almost daily for older kids during school vacation periods and throughout the summer. During the school year, for elementary school–age students, there’s an afterschool workshop on weekdays from 4 to 5 p.m.
