Description: Voted one of Long Island’s top 10 new restaurants by Newsday readers in 2007, Brasserie Cassis is a traditional French bistro that offers a casually elegant setting. The decor is very much influenced by Paris and includes globe chandeliers, colorful artwork, and marble-topped tables. Brasserie Cassis is one of several restaurants on Long Island owned and operated by RestStar Hospitality. Entrees include steak frites, steak au poivre vert, onglet de boeuf bordelaise, jarret d’ agneau, and saumon aux lentilles. In English, selections include New York strip steak, grilled hanger steak, pecan-crusted chicken breast, walnut-crusted rack of lamb, duck breast, fillet of trout, black cod, Dijon-crusted salmon, and fillet of sole. Every day of the week a different house special is offered, priced between $22 and $28 each. Brasserie Cassis is a family-friendly restaurant that’s also suitable for business people. Reservations are recommended for dinner.

Description: Serving lunch and dinner daily in a casual but tasteful dining room, Red Fish Grille serves up all-American cuisine with a heavy emphasis on ultra-fresh seafood dishes. In addition to the diverse menu, there’s a full bar and an extensive wine list, making this the perfect place to dine for a business lunch or a dinner with friends. Kick off your meal with crispy fried calamari, jumbo lump crab cakes, baked clams, or spicy lobster egg rolls, for example, and then move on to a jumbo shrimp cocktail, littleneck clams, or a half chilled lobster. Among the entrees you’ll find are horseradish-potato-crusted salmon, sesame seared yellowfin tuna, crispy cod fish-and-chips, Key West mahi mahi, and baked stuffed fillet of sole. The wok-fried whole fish and seafood risotto are also featured specialties. While the menu is extensive, it does change a bit daily, based on the freshest seafood available at any given time.
