It’s also home to Mirabelle, which has become one of the best fine-dining restaurants on Long Island. The majority of the 26 guestrooms at the Three Village Inn can be found in small cottages, which, as of late 2009, were in the process of being totally gutted and redesigned to offer luxurious and very romantic accommodations. (When making your reservation, be sure to request one of the newly renovated cottages.)There is a small day spa on the premises, and the inn is within walking distance of a cluster of lovely shops, as well as a gorgeous park that offers hiking trails and a beautiful pond. In addition to being close to the historic village of Stony Brook, which offers shopping, dining, and a few historical sites and museums, it’s also a short drive from SUNY Stony Brook, so this inn is an ideal place for parents visiting their kids who attend this school.
