Description: This is a 100-year-old, 300-acre working farm that’s open to the public from Apr to late Oct (and limited times during various holiday periods). What you’ll discover here are entertaining and informative interactive workshops and demonstrations, plus a petting zoo that features sheep, goats, pigs, cows, and other animals. Developed and operated by Cornell University faculty and local youth-development specialists, visitors can participate in a self-guided tour of the farm and its facilities, plus take part in a variety of educational programs that cover such topics as gardening, landscaping, food, nutrition, and health. The farm also hosts a variety of specialized kid-friendly programs. It is open daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., except for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter. Admission is free. Visit the Web site for a listing of special kid-oriented events and day-camp activities offered during the summer. This is a great place to host a child’s birthday party.
