Description: To get to this resort built in the ’30s, turn north from US 26 at the eastern edge of the town of Government Camp and go 6 miles up FR 50. Boasting the longest ski season in North America, Timberline has more than 1,000 acres of snowfields for skiers and snowboarders. Thanks to the Palmer chairlift, skiers have access to 300 acres situated between 7,500 and 8,500 feet in elevation, not to mention some of the most scenic views in Oregon. Because of its terrain, Timberline is a good choice for beginners and intermediate skiers. Overnight lodging is available, but it fills up fast.
