Description: One of the Grand Strand’s newest golf resorts, Barefoot is also one of the most spectacular. It offers four distinctive championship courses, all unique, visually striking, and fun to play. The venue was designed by the top golf course designers in the world, Greg Norman, Davis Love III, Tom Fazio, and Pete Dye. The courses can be played by average golfers as well as those with a low handicap.The Dye Course is the only one that is semiprivate, and some would argue that it is the best of the four. The layout of this 7,343-yard par 72 is beautiful and treacherous. The Fazio Course has been strategically designed to incorporate tree cover and lakes into the landscaping. Water can be seen on 15 of the holes, yet they are in out-of-play areas. Tee and fairways consist of GN-1, a hybrid turf developed by Greg Norman. The approach is Tifsport Bermuda, while the greens are an A-1 bent grass. The par 71 is 6,834 yards long.Embracing a tradition of Lowcountry character, the Love Course has wide-open fairways and generous land areas. The course is par 72 and plays over 7,000 yards. The Norman Course is par 72 as well and plays 7,200 yards. Seven holes of the Norman Course are along the Intracoastal Waterway, and with its open green complexes and fairways running up to the sand, the course presents a real challenge for any golfer.All of the courses allow walking. Rates are subject to change so check with the course when you book. They range from $105 to $185 for 18-hole walk-ons.
