Description: North Myrtle Beach’s new Aqua & Fitness Center is about the nicest public health facility you’ll run across. A complete fitness center, AFC has 26 treadmills, 13 elliptical machines, bikes, weights, and countless other machines to help you get in shape. There are numerous classes, including some geared for seniors. The center offers a three-lane warm-water teaching and therapy pool, as well as an eight-lane, 25-yard lap pool. There is also a whirlpool to soak in afterwards. If you think you need a massage, the AFC offers that as well.The facility is open from 5:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Mon through Fri, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sat, and noon to 5 p.m. Sun. The pool closes a half hour earlier than the facility each day. Child care is available Mon through Fri 8 a.m. until noon and again from 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., and on Sat from 9 a.m. until noon. Membership prices vary according to age, whether you are an individual, a couple, or an entire family, so check the Web site for details.
