Try starting your meal with creamy potato or tomato bisque soup, and top your salad with creamy dill or Italian vinaigrette dressing. The soup is served with warm, fresh-baked bread, usually made with wholesome grains or herbs and sun-dried tomatoes and the cuisine is as distinctive as South Dakota—in other words, big, fresh, tasty meals. Chefs use steak and fish from the Black Hills and add their own creativity to the dishes. The signature rum-cured salmon is absolutely delicious. Of course, Seven Grill also serves prime steaks such as rib eye and tenderloin. It offers nightly specials, including the popular prime rib on Friday and Saturday nights.The Seven Grill has fast become a local favorite, especially among the younger college crowd in Spearfish. The interior is warm and inviting, with a wooden bar and tables and a large stone fireplace. The outside patio has a fire pit, and it is covered in cold weather for those who still wish to dine outside. Local artwork decorates the walls, and regional musicians are frequently invited to play and entertain the crowd. It’s open year-round for lunch and dinner until 11 p.m., but the bar stays open until the crowd tapers.
