Description: Founded in 1866, the Jack Daniel’s Distillery is the oldest registered distillery in the United States and is on the National Register of Historic Places. This is where the famous Jack Daniel’s “smooth sippin’ Tennessee whiskey” is made. You can learn all about how this sour-mash Tennessee whiskey is made during a guided tour of the facility, after which you’ll be served a complimentary lemonade or coffee. You can’t sample the whiskey because the county is dry, but you can purchase a specially designed decanter of it in the distillery’s visitor center (except on Sun). Tours are conducted daily except on major holidays. Plan to spend about 90 minutes on the tour. The distillery is about 80 miles southeast of Nashville, about 26 miles off I-24.
