Description: If you sign up for a guided tour (fees involved), you’ll start here at the old train station in the Stockyards. Inside the station, find more than 25 shops and businesses, including art galleries, souvenir stands, a winery, and several restaurants. For self-guided touring, you can rent an audio tour in multiple languages. If you want to ride the restored train, you’ll board the Grapevine Vintage Railroad (www.grapevinetexasusa.com), which operates on a seasonal schedule with trips to Grapevine, northeast of Fort Worth, near DFW Airport, or to the south side of Fort Worth and back; tickets are $10 to $20. While you’re wandering Stockyards Station, be on the lookout for the twice-daily cattle drive that ambles at a leisurely pace down Exchange Avenue. The Herd, as it’s called, is a group of 15 Texas longhorns that mosey down the brick road, driven by cowboys and caballeros in period costume. The Herd will wander past at 11:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.
