Description: Started in 1973, this fun-­loving restaurant offers more than a meal: It’s an experience. Start with the waitstaff dressed as cartoon and movie characters: You might be seated by Captain Jack Sparrow or Dora the Explorer—it’s just the luck of the draw. And the seat you’ll receive is no Formica table or corner booth, either. You might be assigned the Jail Cell, the Orgy Pit, or the Mine Shaft, depending on the crowd that night. You’ll serve yourself from the salad bar, set in an authentic 1953 MG Roadster.The brainchild of Jim and Veva Hasslocher (who also founded the Jim’s Restaurants), this unique eatery has spawned similar restaurants in Dallas. The menu features a mix of seafood, steaks, and grilled items, but the highlight is the Roman Orgy, a massive meal consisting of brisket, chicken, corn on the cob, and more. This restaurant is open daily for dinner only, except on Saturday and Sunday, when it also serves lunch.
