Located adjacent to the Greensprings Plantation National Historic Site on historic Route 5 west of Williamsburg, Patriots Colony offers residences and a community center featuring fine dining, a fitness and wellness center, and recreational areas. Other amenities include all utilities, weekly maid service, one meal per person per day, total interior and exterior building maintenance, and a community greenhouse, pool, and tennis courts. In addition to independent-living facilities, the community offers long-term care on-site. Long-term health care includes assisted living, assisted living for residents with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementia, and a convalescent care center. While the independent-living community is open to retired officers of the seven uniformed services and retired federal civil service employees only, the assisted-living and convalescent care centers are open to everyone.
