Description: Apr through Sept is horse racing season, and this track is just a few miles south of Seattle in Auburn. A day at the Emerald Downs races comes in many forms. You can simply pay admission and hang out on the track level with your friends, or bring a blanket and relax in the park. If you want to have a “home base” at the track, reserve a seat in the grandstand or a table in the Rainier Restaurant. Numerous special events are held throughout the season, including a Fireworks Spectacular around the Fourth of July. General admission tickets are $7 and include access to the first five levels of the grandstand, paddock, and park. Children 17 and under are admitted free, as are military personnel with valid ID. General parking is free, and valet is offered for $10. To get to the racetrack, drive south on I-5 to exit 147 (272nd Street), turning east for 3 miles. Then turn right on West Valley Highway for 1 mile, then left at 37th Street NW to Emerald Downs. Sound Transit Express bus routes 564 and 565 and Sounder commuter rail all go directly to the track from downtown Seattle on race days.
