Description: The Seahawks have been playing in Seattle since 1976, and during that time the team has certainly had its ups and downs. The Seahawks made one Super Bowl appearance, in 2006 when they lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers 21–10. Currently owned by Paul Allen (of Microsoft), the Seahawks play at Qwest Field just south of Pioneer Square, adjacent to the Mariners’ Safeco Field. Public tours are given at 12:30 and 2:30 p.m. Fri and Sat from Sept 1 to May 30, for $7. On home game days, the team is led onto the field by Taima, an Augur hawk, flying majestically out of the tunnel.Qwest Field has a seating capacity of 67,000, with expansive concourses, comfortable seats, cutting-edge technology, and upper-end concession and dining options. Tickets can be purchased online through Ticketmaster or at the stadium box office. Prices start at around $50 and can range up to $300 for charter seating and suites. As with baseball games at Safeco, football game days offer garage parking at both facilities, but parking can be expensive, and getting in and out of the area is a nightmare. Taking public transportation is highly recommended, and the Seahawks Web site has a comprehensive Transportation Guide section that will tell you all you need to know about getting there via bus and light rail.
