Description: Established in 1989 and just over a week long, the festival is hosted by artistic directors John and Rose Mary Harbison and includes concerts, recitals, rehearsals, and forums. The setting in a rustic barn is intimate and the performances are of the highest quality. Tickets sell out fast for each event and are available by mail. After Aug 1 it is best to call regarding availability and waiting lists.

Description: So close to Madison and with five shelters, the 427-acre park is ideal for group picnics. The 35 campsites are reservable, and 25 of them offer electricity. Horse riding and hiking trails encircle the park and a boardwalk passes through a sedge meadow marsh and along the creek itself. The 18-hole disc golf course exacts a fee as does the dog-exercise area. The boardwalk and a fishing pier are wheelchair accessible.

Description: Just minutes north of Madison near DeForest, this is a pay-to-play course offering concrete tees on 18 well-maintained fairways with less brush than Elver or Heistand. The fee is around $5 or there is a seasonal pass. Camping is available on-site. Go north of Madison on I-90/94 to exit 132 (US 51). Go north 0.25 mile (just past the truck stop) and turn right into Token Creek Park. The park road passes the group camp, and you’ll see the course kiosks and Hole #1 on the right.
