Questions about Wonderland Daycare:

We do not recommend this daycare--the owner is incredibly abrasive, and inattentive to the children present. She advertises that they take less children than the State point-system mandate requires, but fails to add that she is often not present, and leaves her 70+ year husband alone with 12+ kids. When we picked our daughter up from the trial period, "Mr. GG" had her alone in a closed-door room separated from the other kids, stating "she was crying and disturbing them". He said he'd put her down around 1230, and we showed up at 230. He said she'd refused all food, and when we asked if they'd provided milk in the bottle we'd given them, to soothe her for naptime, he asked: "She drinks whole milk?" We'd clarified this numerous times with his wife, as well as asking they provide her milk to nap. The owner over refunded us by check for the trial period. Within 3 business days, she reached out accusing of us of stealing from her and threatening to poorly review our photography business (for “moral bankruptcy”) if not corrected--multiple times before we clarified we’d address her error. We ended up needing to consult our lawyer regarding our ability to review her business and ensure that she could not defame our own, which she’d never used. When we said we'd refund her the difference, but were VERY dissatisfied with the level of care provided, she called us a "hovering mother with separation issues" for being upset at the separation of our daughter, and an "unchristian father" for cashing the check provided. While we understand the frustration at being owned money, Linda immediately escalated the situation, to the degree we filed a complaint and submitted the emails involved due to their severity. We do not believe she or her husband care for the children beyond putting them in front of the TV for most of the day, and giving them outside time otherwise when possible--she promised us she would not sit our infant in front of the TV. All the photos she sent were of them in front of the TV, or our child actively looking upset and alone otherwise. This has been an awful experience, dragging on through weeks of argument, and while her business may be suitable for older children that need entertainment, it is certainly not a "Learning Center", and Linda was a horrible experience for our daughter. Our infant hadn't had an issue sleeping through the night in some 8+ months, but after her experience there, showed extreme anxiety for a week plus, and woke up many times during the night for at least 4 days. We cannot stress enough that this is not an appropriate, or empathic place, to watch a young child or infant. They do not have the sensitivity to address individual needs, and are not able to record very broad, generic instruction. They seem much more concerned with their financials than the well-being of the child. We find it suspicious that the positive reviews were mostly written in the 2 months prior to our experience, while Linda claims their daycare has been in operation since 2008. There is a previous daycare that she operated with different reviews—we believe she has continuously rebranded to avoid the complaints. We’ve been warned by other daycares since, and wait-listed and spoke with Directors at other, more grounded establishments, that expressed dismay that a less than 18mo old would ever be left alone for any period of time, crying and shut off from the rest of the group without comfort.
