We've lived here for 20 years, shopped at this store at least four times a week on average over those years, seen many great employees come and go...but the decline in cleanliness, convenience, service, and responsiveness to customers in the last year/few months is a deal breaker.
Nothing was ever exemplary or even above average about this store - it was just close to our house. Every time an employee became proficient & excellent, somehow - for whatever reason - they disappeared. I have no idea why.
In my imagination, dreaming, it seemed like a link between expertise (deserving higher pay??? I wouldn't know & can't speculate) and no longer being employed at this location occurred, over & over & over. Almost all of those employees have been Haitian, which surely is just my imagination, in terms of loss of employment based on experience & duration of employment. I have no idea what the truth of the pattern might show.
Then, in the last few months, the level of customer service has declined even further. Not much fresh coffee at night. Empty milk/cream dispensers for coffee. No chilled wine (except reds. seriously). Dirty areas in all beverage spots - coffee, slurpee, soda. Employees who have no idea where anything is or how to help customers (like, trays for hot coffee cups are at the coffee dispensing area? no - employee says they don't have those. Cost for pastries? employee has no clue. Which register to use? How to purchase a hot dog? Employee. Has. No. Idea.)
Tonight, a delivery truck blocked all parking except two handicapped & two non-handicapped spaces (they blocked access from the alley as well). And the delivery guys' dollies blocked 2+ aisles inside the store. When I asked the cashier what was up with that, he said it's always been that way on Monday nights. Really? Since last week? He's a brand new employee. I've been shopping there for 20 years.
His response, and the truck drivers' behavior, accurately reflected everything that is wrong with this store, and the other 7/11s owned by this family.
Do. Not. Go. To. This store if you are looking for convenience, consistency, customer service, reliability...anything that 7/11 is known for.
I won't be going there again - there are far better options, for 7/11s not owned by this family & many other stores, very close by in this neighborhood.
A Dunkin' Donuts is opening in a few weeks, 2 blocks south. Plus Walgreens, CVS, Publix, Wynns, Mobil at Central, and any other gas station nearby...they all offer better options than this mismanaged, inconvenient, ludicrous 7/11...and they are all on 41 in Old Naples, within a few blocks of 7th Ave North. Drive to one of them, and skip this store.
Would you recommend 7-ELEVEN #10318 to others? No
