After a long day of sports, and work, my children and I decided to join my husband for lunch at nearby Burger King on 2100 W and Redwood located in West Valley Utah. This is our very first time in years we could be together for dinner and thought it would be neat since our children were off for summer break to meet him during his lunch break. When we first walked in the trash next to the entry door was completely full of garbage and wreaked of rotten onions and stale ranch. The smell alone made me feel queasy. I had told my children to use the restrooms to wash their hands and when they came out the said they almost slipped due to the floor just being mopped. Absolutely NO CAUTION SIGNS around to warn them. I had let the manager know of our concerns but she dismissed it with no regards. When we took our order she was very rude, short with us did not give us a pleasant greeting and made us feel like our huge order was an inconvenience. We ordered several items off the King Dollar menu and ordered regular combos as well. We spent a total of $40. We've been to this burger king during the afternoon from time to time, and always had a pleasant experience until tonight. The lady at the counter who had her buttoned shirt open to reveal her gang affiliation tattoos was very rude and did not make our experience there worth while. We never experience such hostility, was very uncomfortable and unacceptable. When we noticed that we didn't have any ranch in our order, we sent our 9 year old son to ask for a few ranch. What we heard was very disturbing. We heard the lady say here is 3 ranches the next time you come I'm going to charge you and threw the ranch on the counter as if my son did something wrong. We heard it loud and clear as we were sitting towards the back of the restaurant. When my husband heard her response, he quickly walked up to counter and asked her very politely what the problem was if our son did something wrong. She said, "yeah, he can't have more than 3 ranches that's what the problem is". My husband in turn said that her behavior to a minor was very uncalled for. She quickly walked away and had a young employee who was there basically step in and started to provoke the situation. My husband asked the young man, that all we asked for was a little more ranch and instead got back attitude and terrible customer service. The young man insisted that they don't have to give us more than 3 ranches. However, when we asked where does it say it? Please show us the sign and we will honor it. But he dismissed it and let us know the sign was pulled down earlier. Not only that , when we received our food, our order was mixed up, we had 4 fries versus 6 and the our food was cold after all the commotion. My children were very concerned and let us know that they didn't feel safe and that they were't hungry anymore. The young man continued to harass us while we were sitting down, starring down my 9 and 7 year old boy and at that time we had enough and packed up our food and left. We let them know we will be in touch with their Manager. I will NEVER EVER go back to that Burger King again. A simple dinner night as a family turned into a nightmare and I hope that the 2 employees that were rude and made our family very uncomfortable are fired or put on some type of probation until they are thoroughly trained on customer service, Cleanliness etc. Tonight was not acceptable to say the least and we are planning to write to the Health Dept as well.
