Do NOT go to this station. Their scales are uncalibrated and are off by 2 to 3 oz., and NOBODY CARES! They've been overcharging EVERYONE who ships out of there for the last 6 to 8 weeks. I weigh all my packages with a couple accurate portable scales (an AWS Postal one bought on Amazon and also an official $50 Post Office portable model) and frequently send international packages. When I started getting bad weight readings a few months ago, I let them know that their scales were off and even brought my portable post office scale in to show them. At first, they appeared to show concern and the employee at the desk told me they'd have to call someone in to get it fixed. So I took down the phone number of the station so that I could call in a few weeks when I needed to send a package to see if it had been done. When I did call next about 3 or 4 weeks later, the manager said she didn't know what the previously mentioned employee was talking about and said that they had all the necessary means to calibrate right there at the station (implying that they do calibrate on a regular basis). So I went back with my latest package that day. When I came up to the desk of the single worker on call at that time, I got a reading of 8 oz for a 5.3 oz package after being told a curt "Nope" when I asked if they'd done any calibrating of their scales recently. So nobody there knows what the heck they're doing or gives a rat's hiney if their scales are correct or not, and the stupid 800-number Post Office automated phone system makes you enter a specific task to be done, routing number, etc. (i.e. nothing under the category of "grievance" or "complaint") before you can talk to a live person - typical government bureaucracy. So attempting to complain is just a waste of time. So now I have to drive an extra 5 minutes both ways to get to the next post office down the street on Mansfield Road just so I can get an accurate shipping rate and continue to charge my customers only actual shipping costs, which is my personal business standard.
If you're shipping international, avoid this station at all costs or you'll wind up paying $4+ more than you have to. It's not so bad if you're shipping domestic, but if you mail packages frequently, I'd recommend going to another station regularly if you don't reside or work within walking distance of this station and have any sort of a regular travel pattern near other stations in the city.
