We walked out rather than complete our order. When we walked in, there were 2 guys behind the counter. I had a sheet of coupons and I asked the lady in front of me if she had a coupon as I had seen her in there before. She said yes and said she tucked it into her wallet so she wouldn’t forget to use it. This conversation was clearly heard by the guys behind the counter. I also gave the gentleman behind me a coupon…all clearly heard by the guy behind the counter. I get to the cash register and am told the scanner for the coupons hasn’t been working all day and the guy gives me a total for my purchases at full price saying he couldn’t honor the coupon if the system wasn’t working. This would have been just FINE had one of them mentioned it while I was getting ready to order or even while getting my sandwich ready. But they waited for me to get to the cash register and ready to pay before telling me. They weren’t that busy, the people I mentioned were the only ones in line for sandwiches. I felt insulted. I can afford to pay full price, but I don’t like to be tricked into it. So we said we didn’t want anything and as we left the cashier yelled at us….”have a great day, sarcastically”. I was not hateful or rude. I just said, after being told that they couldn’t honor my coupons, Well, I don’t want anything. I should have said…I don’t want anything because you could have informed me of this before I ordered by saying….Our system has been down today and we won’t be able to honor your coupon….that would have been much more professional and customer friendly. Very disappointed with the service I received tonight. I don’t usually complain, I don’t use the app to get rewards either.
