Verizon has a greeter that arranges visitors into a sales queue. My experience is that this practice creates a sense of being taken care of, and is an excellent service response.
Further, after entering the queue, sometimes a wait is necessary when the store is full of customers. The ability to browse through a complete inventory of live and accessible phones is a very useful period, and is unmatched in other providers.
Once the sales person starts an order, next step directions are clear and timely. That's why I shop at the Verizon Midvale store.
