The director here is not nice she seems to judge people and seems prejudice she is not empathetic and made my daughter and I leave im not mad that i had to leave im upset that they have this racist lady running this place and she has no empathy they do not help you get anything done

Ive lived here at the hospitality house for several months after leaving an abusive relationship the monitors are all great but Brenda Johnson needs to go shes very heartless and was going to throw someone out pending covid results and snow storm knowing they had no where to go shes very judgemental and racist against whites and hispanics by no means should she be the one running this place if it wasnt for the. Monitors lourdes ruby lynn shae annette and kirby and a wonderful God loving woman barbara I would of lost it many times Im praying the majors will see what this woman Brenda is really like in fact i tried to give her a christmas card and this woman crossed her name off and had her staff return it to me tell me that isnt the most heartless thing someone can do i wrote her a nice note in it and she still felt the need to reject it and show me she was rejecting it instead of just throwing it away SMH

I have lived at the Salvation Army homeless shelter since April 14th one day before my daughters first birthday. I'm exiting on June 30th. I must say our Chef Debbie was the best cook. My kids belly and myself was always full. The kitchen was always spotless. Staff was on point. Always there when needed. The directors were firm but that's because they believed in us even after we lost hope. We all had to participate in chores. I always liked that. My son loved it. Mind you he is only six. I learned a lot about myself. I turned a negative into a positive. I'm proud to say I enter with nothing but hopes about a better tomorrow for me and my kids. I'm leaving with a job, a dream, and one step closer to a home. I have met lots of great people in this place. Funny thing my first day was not that bad. I have a mental picture of a shelter, nothing what I expected. A safe clean environment. I will always be great full. To all involved in the Salvation army
