  • Non-food contact surfaces designed, constructed, maintained, installed, located.
    Bare wood is exposed below the soft drink syrup boxes at the bar and a piece of wood on the floor at the bar near the soft drink syrup box stand.
    Maintain all non-food contact surfaces so they are smooth, easily cleanable and non-absorbent.
    Seal these areas.
  • Restrooms with self-closing doors, fixtures operate properly, facility clean, supplied with hand soap, disposable towels or hand drying devices, tissue
    A trash receptacle is not provided for the hand sink at the bar area.
    Easily cleanable waste receptacles shall be conveniently located near the hand washing facilities if disposable towels are used.
    Provide a trash receptacle for this hand sink.

Certification shall be achieved by successfully completing a Department approved course and monitored examination offered by a testing organization in compliance with the criteria in the IDPH food service code. The owner of this establishment is enrolled in a Food Service Sanitation Manager Certitification Course for June 2015. Please post this certification once it is received.

    A couple areas have bare wood exposed. All non-food contact surfaces shall be smooth, easily cleanable and non-absorbent. Seal these areas so they meet these requirements.
  • Plumbing installed and maintained
    A leak is present at the hand sink in the women's restroom. Plumbing shall be sized, installed, and maintained in accordance with applicable provisions of the Illinois State Plumbing Code. Repair the leak.
  • Critical: Outer openings protected from insects, rodent proof
    The front door to the establishment, closest to the bar area, is not self-closing. Openings to the outside shall be tight fitting and self-closing. Provide a self-closing hinge/device for this door. Contact our office as soon as this is repaired so a final inspection can occur.
  • Floors properly constructed, clean, drained
    Several tiles on the floor in the kitchen are misplaced and some bare areas of the floor are exposed. All floors shall be smooth, easily cleanable and non-absorbent. Relocate the tiles so they meet these requirements.
  • Walls, ceilings, and attached equipment, properly constructed, clean
    1) The walls and coving on the far wall in the walk-in cooler has some detached areas at the bottom. 2) The coving is missing along the bottom of the wall behind the oven in the kitchen. Maintain all walls and attached equipment smooth, easily cleanable and non-absorbent. Repair these areas.
