Enable people to live safely and comfortably in an environment that optimizes their ability to maintain their independence and quality of life.
OUR MISSION
Provide experienced caregivers to qualified care recipients to enable them to exercise their right to choose to live safely and comfortably in their residence. We provide referrals to other agencies and recommendations when we are unable to provide needed services with:
1. Experienced caregivers: Each caregiver is required to be at least 19, have at least six-month paid experience working for seniors that are not family members. They must have a clear criminal background study, positive work references, and receive high scores during the interview process. They must complete training and pass testing as provided by a Licensed Social Worker and Registered Nurse. Visiting Angels hires without regard to race, religion, marital status, or other demographic.
2. Qualified care recipients: Our Clients are Individuals that require companion / homemaking (companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping services, transportation) or non-medical personal care services (bathing, toileting, help getting dressed). In addition, they must be able to pay for these services privately or with long-term care insurance, or medical assistance. We will not provide care for someone who we are unable to maintain in a safe environment or may become verbally inappropriate, violent and possibly cause the caregiver physical or emotional harm.
3. Right to choose: We believe that our clients have the right of self determination and to choose where and how they live. We may disagree, but will not force our views upon them. However, we will not allow any client to be subject to abuse or neglect, and will report any abuse or neglect, as we are mandated by law, to family members and county adult protection.
4. Safe and Comfortable: At all times we strive to make our client’s lives easier thereby assisting them to maintain their independence. We do for them what they cannot, provide assistance as needed, and allow them to complete tasks as they are able.
5. In their residence: We provide services in private homes, apartments, assisted living facilities, and in care facilities such as nursing homes or hospitals.
