Ben Auletta is the C.E.O. and principal owner of Auletta Financial, L.L.C. – Accounting & Financial Planning (since 1974). He is a graduate of Rutgers University Graduate School of Business where he earned a Masters Degree in Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in Marketing. He also earned a B. S. in Industrial Engineering at Newark College of Engineering, and attended Farleigh Dickinson University. Ben was a Cadet in the first class at The United States Air Force Academy and subsequently served in the US Air Force. Before becoming an entrepreneur, Ben enjoyed 11 years in staff, managerial and supervisory positions with the largest corporations in America- Procter & Gamble, Standard Oil, Mobil Oil, Inter-Chemical Co. and National Starch And Chemical Co. He has conducted a successful independent professional practice for the past 37 years helping clients manage their business and individual financial and operating concerns. He has several years’ experience as a college Instructor, and has written newspaper columns covering business and the theater. He has turned away from specialization and enjoys the challenge of becoming proficient in a broad range of issues and dealing with a diverse set of demands. His business assignments included technical sales engineering, industrial plant engineering projects, profit improvement (Industrial Engineering) projects leading and training teams of management personnel with diversified background and skills assembled from company wide work locations to study and improve operations throughout U.S. locations. His final years in industry included a position managing all materials movements within a chemical plant. This included supervising purchasing, inventory control, and through two foremen and several lead men all warehousing and air, rail and trucking shipping and receiving activities. This activity included special documentation of export shipments and safe handling of hazardous materials. As a member of the executive board of the NJ Association of Public Accountants, Ben served the association as State Secretary and Trustee. He served as President and Treasurer of the Central Jersey Chapter of the association. Ben was also a member of the National Association of Public Accountants and a delegate to their national convention. This activity contributed to his skills and knowledge as a financial professional and afforded him the opportunity to work to safeguard the interests of practicing accountants and their clients. Ben was a founding member of the Bound Brook High School Booster Club and served as its initial Treasurer. He has extensive service in youth programs, serving as the Business Advisor and Coordinator for Bound Brook High School’s Junior Achievement program; as Cub master in the Cub Scout Program; manager, coach and league officer in the Bound Brook Little League and Pop Warner Football programs; and worked in the YMCA Indian Guide program. His satisfaction from participating in these activities, along with his service on the Board of Education, came from working closely with children and helping them develop into productive and exemplary citizens. Ben served on the Bound Brook Board of Education where he was Chairman of the Policy Committee and served on several other committees. He has also served as a member of the Board’s Labor Negotiations Team. He was the Board’s delegate to the “Association of Boards of Education of Somerset County” and has served as delegate to the NJ School Boards Association Delegate Assembly. He was a member of the NJ School Boards Association Legislative Committee and the Resolutions Subcommittee. He served 2 terms as a Bound Brook Borough Council member and has served on several borough boards and committees including the Bound Brook Planning Board. He was selected to participate in the inaugural session of Somerset County’s exclusive Leadership 2000 yearlong community leadership training program that seeks to provide understanding and access to centers of influence and power. He currently is a Somerset County Committeeman and member of the executive committee where he serves as the deputy Treasurer. Ben has been a candidate for the NJ Assembly and the Chairman of the Bound Brook Democratic Municipal Committee. Ben and his wife Carole are 46-year residents of Bound Brook. Carole was the Director and owner of Little Learners Child Care Center in Somerset NJ for 12 years. Carole worked extensively in the Bound Brook school district before starting her own school. After accepting an attractive offer to sell her school she held a responsible position at the Child Care Center at Raritan Valley Community College, and subsequently accepted a Directorship of Harmony Schools in Piscataway. They have three sons that progressed through the Bound Brook schools from Kindergarten through High School, and have all enjoyed success as business entrepreneurs. His son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Tiffany, are partners with Ben in his financial services practice. Ben and Carole are proud grandparents to three little girls and 1 boy.
