- The Caboose is a family owned ice cream and shaved ice shop located in the beautiful Davis Moutains of West Texas. Featuring 24 different flavors of Blue Bell ice cream, menu items include fresh, homemade waffle cones, old-fashioned shakes, malts, sundaes, banana splits and hand packed 1/2 gallons. Additionally, we carry over 25 flavors of shaved ice(raspas)that can be topped off with sweet cream or a scoop of your favorite flavor of ice cream. We also make ice cream cakes, you can choose one from our display box or custom order one made with your favorite cake and Blue Bell ice cream flavors. Our actual caboose, Burlinington Northern 12550 was retired in 1991 from its scheduled Washington State to Houston Texas route. The 35,000 historical relic is complete with the tracks it rests on. The railroad car is restored as much as possible with the displaced pieces placed outside around the patio for all to enjoy. The Caboose serves as an excellent destination for field trips offering two free programs that can be customized to groups of all sizes and ages. The Caboose is located directly across from the Fort Davis Historic Site in the town of Fort Davis, Texas. Our patio is the perfect place to relax and enjoy your frozen treats in a beautiful historic setting. Part of our patio can be reserved for parties of all types including Birthday Party Packages.
