Adult Speech & Language Therapy Harbor Speech Pathology offers assessment and therapeutic intervention after changes in communication as a result of injury, stroke or disease. Cognitive Therapy Our clinic was founded on our passion for aiding in the rehabilitation of clients who have experienced thinking changes due to brain injury or other neurological changes. Swallowing Disorders Swallowing Therapy is offered for both adults and pediatric clients who experience difficulty eating. Myofunctional Therapy Myofunctional therapy is used to correct the function of the tongue and facial muscles while at rest, for swallowing and for speech purposes. Social Language Individual and Group Therapy Individual and group sessions are led by a Speech Language Pathologist focusing on: • Using language for different purposes, such as greeting, informing, demanding, promising or requesting. • Rules for conversation, such as taking turns, introducing topics, staying on topic, rephrasing, verbal and nonverbal signals, and how to use facial expressions and eye contact effectively. • How to change language according to the needs of a listener or situation. • Pragmatics A variety of curriculum are used to teach social skills concepts, including the Social Thinking ©   Curriculum. Parents are included in weekly sessions for discussion regarding goals for carry over at home and client’s progress.
