- We are an adult daycare facility located in Florissant, Missouri. We offer a warm social home-like environment for young people and senior citizens between the ages of 18 years and over. We provide the personal loving care that relatives themselves would provide if they were there at the center. We promote a sense of self-respect and well-being for each participant. We know that all persons function at a higher level of wellness when they can function as autonomously as possible within the limits of their abilities. Each participant’s talent and disability are valued as unique and are utilized to foster the personal growth and development of the individual. Our clients are relatives and care givers who want the participant’s to have care and attention when the clients are at work or simply need rest during the day. The adult day care business has seen a growth pattern over the last five years. The City of Florissant is a growing area with an aging population. We are sure that those that have physical or mental needs would rather be stay in their homes than become institutionalized in a nursing facility. Northernstar Adult Day Care Center exists to provide our participants with great adult day care services that are aimed at enhancing traditional day care methodologies and integrating extracurricular interests (such as arts and crafts, dance, and hosting birthday/holiday/theme parties, and sightseeing events) into our comprehensive program. Our developmental programs reinforce basic social, listening, independence and motor skills and prepare participants for related interaction. All services and activities are provided by staff members that are well trained and certified in the field of adult and senior care services. Our staff is trained to meet the individual needs of most participants, particularly Alzheimer’s patients, ambulatory challenged, mentally confused, dementia, frailty, incontinence, Parkinson’s, stoke and heart attack victims.
