  • We specialize in hot water heater installation and repair throughout Johnson County and Kansas City. We install Bradford White water heaters for the majority of the installations we complete. Bradford White has been one of the most recommended water heater manufacturers for many years. One of the biggest advantages to choosing a Bradford White water heater is the fact that all replacement parts are usually stocked by most plumbers and plumbing supply houses. If you have an issue with your water heater in the future you can expect a fast and inexpensive repair in most cases. As a licensed plumber who gets a lot of calls for water heater repair one of my biggest problems is working with off brand water heaters that do not have universal replacement parts. One of the biggest culprits is the Kenmore water heater made by Sears. It’s almost like they intentionally make the parts hard to get so you have to call them instead of a professional plumber. One of the most common repairs on a water heater is the replacement of the thermocouple, the repair cost is usually around $165 including parts and labor. On a Kenmore unit the cost will increase due to the amount of time and effort that is required in getting their specific thermocouple. The last time we tried to get a replacement part we were told that they did not have any in Kansas City and we would need to have the part shipped which would take 5-7 days to arrive. Since the homeowner was without hot water they decided to just replace the unit. We run into the same problem when attempting to repair water heaters that were purchased from Home Depot or Lowes. Most of the water heaters that they sell are very difficult to get parts for, it will usually take up to a week and be more expensive that other brands.
